GWENT Police launched a huge search operation after a two-year-old girl was reported missing from her Newport home tonight.
Inspector Robert Witherall of the force control room said a "large number" of officers, including specialist search officers, dog units and the force helicopter were involved in the search in the Rogerstone area. The girl's parents reported her missing from their home in Hillside Crescent at around 7.45pm.
Neighbours were also involved in the search effort.
Police said the girl was found safe and well back in her own house at around 9.20pm.
Inspector Witherall said the circumstances of how she returned home are being investigated.
