THE daughter of a Hospice of the Valleys nurse is on target to raise £1,000 after running the London Marathon last weekend.
Joanna Le Vannais, 29, who lives in London, finished the 26 mile course in four hours 50 minutes.
Her mother Sharon Le Vannais, and several other family and friends cheered her on as she ran the course.
"It was an amazing day, but also agonising," Miss Le Vannais said.
"I am really pleased with the time. It was a fantastic experience, but one that I don't want to repeat anytime soon."
More than £600 in sponsorship has come in so far, and Joanna says she is on target to raise £1,000.
She chose to run for the Hospice of the Valleys even though she works for the charity Cancer Research UK.
The Hospice of the Valleys provides free specialist palliative care for people suffering from cancer in Blaenau Gwent.
