STUDENT Catherine Townsend has turned her camera on a Newport-based homeless organisation as it celebrates a special anniversary.
Temporary is an up-close look at 25 Solas clients, one for each year the organisation has operated from the city.
Catherine's exhibition was on display in the gallery of Newport Market yesterday and can also be seen from May 12 to 16.
She took the photographs as part of her degree project at the University of Wales, Newport.
The aim was to highlight the character of each client and their reaction to their environment.
Catherine asked each model to complete a short questionnaire that would make them think about their future and what they would like in it.
"The portraits have been presented life size to reveal a little about their personality and character," she explained.
Tim Atkinson, business development manager at Solas said: "We are proud to be celebrating 25 years of vital work with the homeless.
"This exhibition shows the plight of our clients and how Solas can help them turn their lives around."
As part of the anniversary events, the exhibition will also be showcased at the re-launch of Solas' Compass Centre on April 28th.
The centre helps service users to develop their skills, confidence and knowledge, enabling them to re-engage with the wider community and pursue employment opportunities.
Temporary will also be available in book format from April 28 at The Riverfront Newport.
Solas, part of the Seren group, is organising a number of activities to mark its jubilee which draw to a close with a themed auction ball in October.
