FOUR men accused of murdering a private detective 21 years ago were remanded in custody today.
Daniel Morgan, 37, of Cwmbran was found with an axe embedded in his skull outside the Golden Lion pub in Sydenham, south-east London, on March 10, 1987.
James Cook, 53, from Tadworth, Surrey, Glenn Vian, 49, from South Croydon, and his brother Garry Vian, 47, of no fixed address, and Morgan's former business partner William Rees, 53, from Weybridge, Surrey, appeared before City of Westminster magistrates' court in London.
They were remanded in custody to July 31 when they will appear at the Old Bailey.
A fifth man, Sidney Fillery, 61, a former Metropolitan Police detective sergeant, also appeared charged with perverting the course of justice.
