Newport Operatic Society has again produced a thoroughly enjoyable evening, filled with cleverly choreographed dance routines, a strong supporting ensemble and a fantastic line-up of talent.
Millie Dillmount, a young, "modern" woman from Kansas, arrives in New York with her mind set on marrying her boss whoever that may be.
Set against the blue-drenched skyline of the set, the musical love story has a sub-plot about white slavery which never interferes with the fun.
Naive Millie was wonderfully presented by Eloise Rossiter.
Her sparkling stage presence captivated the audience, along with her consistently heartfelt singing.
Louise Haycock, playing the wicked hotel owner, together with her Chinese-speaking sidekicks (John Jones and Chris Powell) - understandable thanks to a clever use of subtitles - were among the comedic highlights.
Llywelyn Morgan playing Mr Graydon must also be mentioned for his comic timing and ability to keep pace in the The Speed Test song alongside Millie.
They were accompanied by Sharon Fitzgerald's fantastic choreography of wheeling, tapping desk-bound secretaries.
It can be seen until April 26.
