CAMPAIGNING rail commuters in Gwent have the chance next month to hear from a train company boss about plans for services involving one of the area's routes.
Severn Tunnel Action Group (STAG), set up 18 months ago in response to plans by First Great Western to withdraw peak time services affecting more than 200 passengers, will hear from the company's performance director about what the future holds for Severn Tunnel Junction.
Mark Hopwood will address STAG's monthly meeting at the Tippling Philosopher, on Chepstow Road, Caldicot, on Tuesday May 6, which also features a 20-minute presentation of the group's achievements, and its annual general meeting.
"We will also outline plans for the coming year," said STAG chairman David Flint.
Most commuters have been concerned with overcrowding and cancellations. Mark Hopwood will give us an update on what we can expect in the future.
"There will also be an opportunity for people to pose questions and we hope to see lots of new faces."
The meeting, beginning with STAG's presentation, begins at 7pm. For more details on the group, visit www.saveseverntunnel.co.uk
