A STUDENT from Abergavenny is to represent the UK in an international competition.
Victoria Griffiths, 22, studying in Taunton, Somerset, will take part in the Euroskills fashion competition.
She will be competing against entrants from 28 countries at the event, which also includes IT, cooking, cleaning, automobile technology and hairdressing categories.
Each team will face a tough three days of competition at the event, watched by an expected 50,000 spectators.
To achieve a place on the team, Victoria had to first prove herself to the UK judges and compete at an intense two day selection competition, held across four colleges.
Ms Griffiths said: "To be able to represent the country and my industry at an event which showcases the best of Europe is great - I hope I will do everyone proud."
The competition is held on September 18-20 in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
