Newcomer Duffy has received three nominations in this year's Mojo Honours List, more than any other artist.
Alex Turner's band the Arctic Monkeys have two - and his project The Last Shadow Puppets have received another two nominations.
Welsh soul singer Duffy has been nominated in the Breakthrough Act category, while her album Rockferry is up for Best Album.
Her smash hit Mercy is also up for Mojo Song of the Year.
The Last Shadow Puppets have been nominated in the Breakthrough Act and Song of the Year categories and Arctic Monkeys have been nominated for Best Album and Best Live Act.
The awards are organised by monthly music magazine Mojo.
Mojo's editor-in-chief Phil Alexander said: "Once again the nominees for The Mojo Honours List are representative of genuine musical quality.
"In an increasingly disposable age, they represent music that's built to last.
"There is a sense of authenticity and integrity that runs through all of these artists and Mojo is proud to celebrate their achievements.'' This year's Best Live Act category includes Neil Young, Led Zeppelin, Rufus Wainwright and former Breakthrough Act winner Seasick Steve.
Robert Plant has been nominated for Best Album with Raising Sands, which saw him collaborate with Alison Krauss.
Joining them was Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds with Dig!!! Lazurus, Dig!!!
Radiohead received their only nomination in the Honours List this year in this category for In Rainbows.
In its second year, The Mojo Compilation of the Year acknowledges single disc collections which have made an impact.
Soundtracks from indie film hits in this category included From the Motion Picture Control, featuring Joy Division, David Bowie and The Velvet Underground; and Juno OST, which features Sonic Youth, The Moldy Peaches and Belle & Sebastian.
The Mojo Honours List will take place in London on June 16.
