FIREFIGHTERS were called to a kitchen fire in Glyn Terrace, Tredegar, just after 11.30pm yesterday.
A spokeswoman for South Wales Fire and Rescue said an elderly woman was removed from the terraced property before the arrival of crews, from Tredegar and Ebbw Vale, and placed in the care of paramedics.
She added the small fire was accidentally started.
