The Caldicot Male Voice Choir have been contracted to sing for P&O on their cruise ship Oriana during their Renaissance and Rivieras cruise in May.
On Saturday, May 17, the choir will be bussed by the company to Southampton where they will join this prestigious vessel for a 14-day cruise through the Mediterranean. With a choir number of 52 and with a travelling party of 160, they have been invited to perform at least four concerts during the cruise with additional concerts should P&O decide it appropriate. A full musical team will accompany the choir and the choristers have been polishing up their extensive repertoire for the occasion.
Choir president Richard Evans has been working tirelessly for over nine months to raise money for the choir trip and also members of the choir have held many events for their cause.
The cruise will take them to Mallorca, Toulon, Genoa, St Florent, Rome (from Civitavechia), Sardinia and Gibraltar, before arriving back in Southampton on May 31.
Excitement is rising as the cruise gets closer when the sound of Welsh voices will resound around the Mediterranean.
