NEWPORT born Wales captain, Ryan Jones was on hand to kick start Museums and Galleries Month at Newport Museum.
The former High Cross Primary School student helped launch the month of special exhibitions at museums and galleries across the country throughout May.
"I remember coming to Newport museum as a child on a school trip and being fascinated by the history of my home town," the grand slam star said.
"It's great to see the hidden treasures on offer like Super Ted, who happens to be a childhood hero of mine!" he said.
People can undertake behind the scenes tours at Newport Museum and Art Gallery and Ryan urged people to take advantage of the promotion.
"Museums and Galleries Month is a really great opportunity for people to take advantage of the local culture on their doorstep as there are loads of special activities going on throughout the month."
