A CWMBRAN care home was named as winner of the Care Home of the Year Award at the recent South Wales Health and Care Awards 2023.

The awards took place at Chepstow Racecourse on Thursday, September 21.

There were cheers from all corners as each winner was read out.

Leadon Court Care Home from Cwmbran was announced as the winner of the Care Home of the Year Award at the ceremony.

Leadon Court, those in attendance were told, "specialises in caring for people with dementia".

The home has 34 residents and provides a day centre for those needing short-term care.

The location of the home, near woodland and gardens, was described as "beautiful, creating calm and relaxing views".

Held in association with the University of South Wales, this year's awards will be the seventh edition of this prestigious event, which shines a light on the hard-working, dedicated people and organisations that give so much to healthcare.

This year's event included some new awards.
