A NEWPORT road is to close with no pedestrian or emergency vehicle access available in order to remove diseased trees.
Trees along Bulmore Road in Caerleon have become infected with ash dieback disease and the road will close for tree cutting on November 1.
According to a public notice, this closure will be in force for a period not exceeding six months, the road will reopen once the works have been completed.
That doesn't mean it will take six months to complete, but gives the authorities flexibility to close the road when work is under way during that time.
Ash dieback gradually kills the trees, so works will be carried out to remove the diseased trees to prevent them falling onto the roads.
The closure will be in place along the footpath between Bulmore Road and Catsash Road.
Pedestrian and emergency vehicle access will not be available and those in the area should follow a diversion route.
Other public notices published in the Argus this week include giving the people the chance to comment to the Development of National Significance about a planning application to the Welsh Ministers.
RWE Renewables UK (RWE) is intending to apply to the Welsh Ministers for planning permission to construct a wind farm.
RWE is the largest power producer in the UK and employs around 2,600 people in the UK.
The proposed development of Abertillery Wind Farm would be located between Abertillery to the west and Abersychan to the east. It would be between the administrative boundaries of Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council and Torfaen County Borough Council.
Those who want to see copies of the proposed application should visit the RWE website.
