ANOTHER new restaurant is coming to the Cwmbran Leisure site, with the opening of a Turkish restaurant.

The restaurant, which specialises in Turkish cuisine, will join the Legend: World Buffet Restaurant in the Cwmbran Leisure park.

Yes Baba will be taking up residence in unit 3a of the leisure scheme.

As an independent business venture, this site will be the first Yes Baba restaurant in the UK and will bring the unique flavours of Turkey to south Wales.

By signing on to inhabit a unit in the Cwmbran Leisure site, Yes Baba has completed the line-up of food outlets for the scheme, with the park now fully let.

It will become part of the dominant leisure scene in Cwmbran, joining big names such as Harvester and Pepe’s Piri Piri Chicken.

Other popular leisure companies onsite include Vue cinema, Hollywood Bowl, a tanning salon and a gym.

Legend: World Buffet Restaurant is due to take over unit 2, following the sudden closure of the Italian Dolce Vita in April 2022.

Letting out all of units is seen as a big success for Cwmbran Leisure’s owners LCP Group, who only acquired the site at the beginning of the year.

Asset manager of national commercial property and investment at LCP, Alex Williams said of adding the two new restaurants to the site: “Adding Yes Baba and Legend to the dining line-up at Cwmbran Leisure is fantastic news for the town.

“They complement our existing strong leisure line up fantastically well and demonstrate Cwmbran’s continued attractiveness as one of South Wales’s leading retail and leisure destinations.”

It has yet to be announced when these new restaurants will be opening.

LCP Group, which is part of M Core, one of the largest and privately held commercial property portfolios in the UK, also purchased the Cwmbran Centre at the beginning of last year.

Mr Williams believes the Cwmbran Centre and Cwmbran Leisure sites are now mirroring each other’s success in such a short space of time.

He said: “The Cwmbran Centre continues to be a great success story. We’ve just announced that the former House of Fraser will be taken over by a national sports and gym operator.

“This follows the recent opening of Coffee#1, while Dunelm is due to open at the end of the month.”

Cwmbran serves an extensive catchment of 683,000 people and benefits from footfall of more than 19 million visitors a year.

M Core has a strong appetite for investment and is actively seeking opportunities across the country, with more than £160m invested in 25 retail centres in the past 12 months alone.

Major acquisitions include M Park Alexandra in Lincolnshire, Weavers Wharf in Kidderminster and M Park Ocean Plaza and Central 12 in Southport.
