A LORRY has broken down on the A40 in Monmouth, blocking one lane and causing congestion across the town.
The lorry has broken down on the A40 travelling northbound at Monmouth traffic lights adjacent to Chippenham Playing Fields, say Traffic Wales, with delays already affecting drivers in the area.
Congestion has also built up on the B4233, Monnow Street, and Dixton Road, as well as the A466 in Mayhill on the other side of the Wye.
Traffic Wales issued the warning to motorists at 3:35pm today, Tuesday, October 24, and the congestion is still affecting roads 40 minutes later with average speeds of 10mph and estimated delays of six minutes.
