A MAN is in hospital with serious injuries after a suspected Newport hit and run between a car and a pedestrian.
The crash took place on East Dock Road, at around 6.50pm on Thursday November 9.
The pedestrian, a 40-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Reportedly the driver fled the scene following the crash, the car is believed to be a dark coloured Mercedes AMG.
The force is now appealing for witnesses to come forward.
A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: “Enquiries are ongoing and we’re asking for anyone who witnessed the collision or any motorists with dashcam footage that were using East Dock Road between 6.30pm and 6.50pm to contact us.
