A ROUND-UP of recent cases heard at Newport Magistrates’ Court and Cwmbran Magistrates’ Court.

JORDAN HASKELL, 27, of Honeysuckle Grove, Ebbw Vale was banned from driving for 12 months after he pleaded guilty to drug driving with a cannabis derivative in his blood on Barleyfield Road, Brynmawr on May 11.

He was fined £425 and must pay a £170 surcharge and £85 costs.

CHARLI ROBINSON, 29, of Cornbrook Road, Bettws, Newport must pay £197 in a fine, costs and a surcharge after pleading guilty to obstructing PC Connor Dumayne-Davis in the execution of his duty on August 12.

ROBERT DAVIES, 41, of Heolddu Grove, Bargoed, Caerphilly was banned from driving for 20 months after he pleaded guilty to drug driving with cocaine in his blood on the A469 on May 5.

He was fined £200 and must pay £85 costs and an £80 surcharge.

GERAINT TIMOTHY HOWELLS, 33, of Western Terrace, Ebbw Vale must pay £398 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for driving without wearing a seat belt on White Rose Way, New Tredegar, Caerphilly on April 6.

KYLE FRY, 36, of no fixed abode, Blaenavon must pay £1,162 in a fine, costs and a surcharge after he pleaded guilty to assault by beating and criminal damage on May 8.

CARL WRIGHT, 54, of Park Drive, Newport must pay £930 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for speeding at 53mph in a 30mph zone on the A48 on the SDR on July 9.

PATRICK DALTON, 53, of Cormorant Way, Duffryn, Newport must pay £623 in a fine, costs and a surcharge after he pleaded guilty to speeding at 54mph in a 30mph zone on the A48 on the SDR on June 27.

KARL WOODYATT, 41, of Bloomery Circle, Newport must pay £559 in a fine, costs and a surcharge after he pleaded guilty to speeding at 55mph in a 30mph zone on the A48 on the SDR on July 1.

THOMAS EVANS, 64, of Grey Crescent, Tir-Y-Berth, Caerphilly must pay £100 in a fine and a surcharge for speeding at 35mph in a 30mph zone on Bryn Road, Pontllanfraith, Blackwood on April 15

TAHIR MAQSOOD, 37, of Snatchwood Road, Abersychan, Pontypool must pay £398 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for speeding at 35mph in a 30mph zone on the B4237 on Cardiff Road, Belle Vue, Newport on May 7.

SAMIR MOKHTARI, 49, of Colts Foot Close, Newport must pay £1,014 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.
