A 91-YEAR-OLD woman suffered potentially life-threatening injuries after a crash in Risca this weekend.
Gwent Police officers were called to a collision on Cromwell Road, near the Texaco service station, at around 10.30am on Saturday, November 11.
The collision involved a white Audi A4 and a single pedestrian. Officers attended with personnel from the Welsh Ambulance Service.
Cromwell Road was closed between Crescent Road and Darren Road.
Gwent Police has now revealed the pedestrian was a 91-year-old woman who was taken to hospital with injuries they believe to be life-threatening.
Police enquiries are ongoing. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or been travelling on Cromwell Road between 10.15am and 10.45am on Saturday, November 11, has been asked to contact Gwent Police by calling 101 and quoting log reference 2300384522.

A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: “We’re appealing for witnesses after a road traffic collision on Cromwell Road, Risca, near to the Texaco service station, at around 10.30am on Saturday, November 11.
“Officers were called following the collision between a white Audi A4 car and a pedestrian.
“Officers attended, along with personnel from the Welsh Ambulance Service.
“A 91-year-old woman was taken to hospital for treatment. Her injuries are thought to be life-threatening.
“Enquiries are ongoing and we're asking for anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or any motorists travelling on Cromwell Road between 10.15am and 10.45am on Saturday, November 11, to contact us.
