A MAN has been arrested following reports of off-road bikes being used dangerously in Newport city centre.
Gwent Police received reports of off road bikes riding against traffic around the Queensway Meadows area and on pavements in Newport City centre.
Together The National Police Air Service and Gwent Police officers intercepted the bike and the driver was arrested.
The force warned that the seized bike will not be returned to the man.
A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: “Reports last night of off road bikes riding dangerously against traffic around the Queensway Meadows area and on pavements in Newport City centre.
“With help from The National Police Air Service, this bike was intercepted and driver arrested.
“Bike seized and won't be returned.”
