AIMING to show solidarity with the oppressed and protest against the continued escalation in the Middle East, many locals will take to the streets of Newport to protest the UK's involvement in the hopes of stopping the ongoing genocide in Palestine.
The Newport Palestine Solidarity Campaign group is once more holding a 'Rally 4 Palestine' to mark one year since the increased escalations in the Middle East, with a march on the Town Bridge on Clarence Place on Thursday, October 3.
A spokesperson for the group, said: "Join us this Thursday for the next Rally for Palestine.
"One year into Israel’s genocidal assault, it’s time to escalate our demands: **#StopArmingIsrael**.
"A year of war and genocide cannot be silenced by political lies or media propaganda.
"Join us and make the call for justice unstoppable.
"Palestine will be Free."
The rally will be held between 5.30pm and 6.30pm on Thursday, October 3, at Town Bridge in Clarence Place, Newport.
A national march is also being held in London where many will march from Russell Square to Whitehall, in a collective effort to stand with the people of Palestine on Saturday, October 5.
