Due to my flatmate's ingenoius blogging, I have been inspired to summarise and, therefore, reap the benefits of my 2007.
In the name of optimism, it is clear that last year was actually a transition from gloomy impossibility to flourishing potential. Well, pretty much.
Here is Laura's 2007 in a nutshell:
1. Became unemployed.
2. Had THE biggest overdraft ever known to man.
3. Became a receptionist at Arup.
4. Retook my exams, only to fail again.
5. Moved back to Bristol.
6. Met the nicest boy I've ever met.
7. Became a Secretary at Arup.
8. Made lots of new friends.
9. Turned 23 in style.
10. Went to the dentist, finally.
11. Bought glasses I actually like.
12. Realised that Physics wasn't for me.
13. Had a tonsillectomy.
14. Started exploring career/academic paths that I would never have considered previously.
So, all in all a brilliant trannsition year both health and relationship-wise! Better than I could've imagined when I started blogging over a year ago. All i need to do now is make sure I don't spend the next ten years of my life being in a comfortable job and not striving to make more of myself, but the Nomad in me won't allow for that and before long I will have itchy feet (well, I do already).
I think, scanning through my list, that 2007 because the point at which I learned self-respect and started to believe in my own ability, after floundering so long in malacheivement and banging my head against the brick wall that is a Physics degree.
I'm already looking forward at what it is I could do. I am also considering pole dancing lessons! What a party piece that will make for!
