Non stop wind and rain lashed down. But surprisingly 25 anglers turned up to fish the sweep stake on Woodstock. This event was well received by the members and they deserve a medal for fishing in the appalling conditions. 1st place went to Andy Price with 30-00-00 of F1 carp and using a feeder with meat from peg 15. 2nd Rob Skellet on peg 38 21-10-00 F1 and on feeder. 3rd Colin Jackson peg 14, 19 -10-00 F1 again on feeder. The clubs A. G. M. Is to be held on Wednesday 9th April. In the Velodrome centre Newport at 7.30 pm sharp. Notices of Motions must be with the secretary before the last day of February 2008.

Although numbers fishing were down due to the appalling weather those that fished found good perch to 4 lb, pike from 10 lb and a good selection of silver fish. It is recommended that you telephone before your visit as the fishery may be closed during very bad weather. Tel Dai on the above number.

Fishing has been quite good with all the pools producing bags to 50 lb on maggot, corn and pellet. The first winter league match with 21 anglers. On the specimen lake with stocking of carp 18 to 21 lb. martin Mathews of Carmarthen got a nice surprise when he caught a mirror of 31 lb off peg 4 fishing to the small island he also took another 4 carp.
