POLICE raided properties in Newport in the early-hours of Friday morning, seizing more than £1,000 in cash and drugs.
80 officers targeted eight different properties simultaneously in Somerton, going after people believed to be involved in drug dealing.
The move came as the culmination to Operation Dissolute, aimed at tackling the supply of drugs and drug-dealers in the Somerton area.
The raids resulted in four arrests and one caution for a variety of drug-related offences.
A 19-year-old man was arrested for possession of drugs with intent to supply after £1,000 of cash, cannabis and pills, believed to be ecstasy, were seized from one property.
A 21-year-old man was arrested for possession of cannabis and a 46-year-old woman and 17-year-old man were both arrested for the cultivation of cannabis, intent to supply cannabis and suspicion of possessing of Class A drugs, believed to be amphetamine.
A 38-year-old man was also cautioned for the possession of cannabis.
