AROUND 250 people took advantage of the glorious autumn weather yesterday to get on their bikes to raise money for St David's Foundation Hospice Care.
They took part in the charity's 26-mile sponsored bike ride, from Blaenavon to Cwmcarn Forest Drive, taking in Pontypool, Cwmbran, Malpas, Fourteen Locks, Rogerstone and Risca along the way.
After having to cancel a couple of fundraising events, including the raft race last month, because of the appalling summer weather, charity bosses hope the bike ride will have provided a welcome financial boost.
