ONLY last Wednesday we told how a teenager lay in agony with a broken back after a game of rugby and no ambulance came for 70 minutes despite three 999 calls.

Today we report that on the same Sam Allaway lay on a pitch at Talywain RFC for almost two hours waiting for an ambulance with a smashed knee.

Despite repeated calls for help for the under-13s full back, none arrived - so club officials carefully put Sam in the back of a car and took him to Abergavenny's Nevill Hall Hospital.

And yet again we have the same response from the ambulance service - none.

It’s about time someone in authority told us what is going on.

Keeping silent on this issue doesn’t mean it will just go away.
