STAFF began work today at the new Newport office of the only FTSE100 company headquartered in Wales with the promise of more jobs to come.
Admiral Group said its new site in Langstone Business Park has the capacity for 450 employees to be filled within three years.
Its purpose-built office, which will primarily house a claims department, will have an initial intake of 30 recruits and they will be joined by 38 existing staff who taken the opportunity to relocate from the company's other two sites.
Admiral currently employs 1,500 people in Cardiff and 1,100 in Swansea.
To mark the opening of the new office staff will be treated to a bucks fizz reception with buffet and everyone will be given specially made "I Love Newport" T-shirts to wear on the day.
Chief Executive Henry Engelhardt saidt the opening of the office was indicative of their ongoing expansion.
"Admiral is going from strength to strength and as well as recruiting from the Newport area, taking extra space in all three cities has allowed us to take on 649 new staff so far this year in Cardiff and Swansea as well.
"It is fantastic that we can now access potential staff from all corners of South Wales to help Admiral succeed even further."
The new building is fully air conditioned, with on-site car parking and chill out areas complete with a Nintendo Wii, various games and vending machines.
Admiral Group is currently the only Welsh headquartered company in the FTSE 100. Last year its turnover was £824 million.
It has been listed among the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For for seven years and the Financial Times 50 Best Workplaces for six years.
