CWMBRAN-based ice cream maker Hill Station has started the process of going into administration.
The manufacturer, which also owns the Loseley and Granelli brands, is in the process of appointing administrators.
A statement, issued to the London Stock Exchange at the beginning of October, said: “The board of the company regrets to announce that having carefully considered the financial position of the company it has commenced the necessary steps to appoint administrators to the company.
“The board has continued to vigorously explore the options to address its short and medium-term financing requirements and has been in negotiations with a number of parties and until today the board was hopeful that funding would be received. It has now become clear that such funding will not be forthcoming.”
The company suspended its shares on the Alternative Investment Market at the end of September after the resignation of nominated advisers, Dowgate Capital Advisers, and finance director Robert Alstead.
No one from Hill Station would comment on the company’s current situation.
