Families in Caerphilly County Borough will be able to find out everything they need to know about childcare and other key issues as a new Family Information Service, launches this week.
Replacing the Children’s Information Service which launched in 2004, the new service offers more information to a wider range of people in the community.
To mark the launch, a day-long event takes place on Thursday with an information bus visiting various venues across the area.
The bus visits Tuneful Tots at Caerphilly Library, a Young Mums Project in Blackwood and an after school club at Tyn y Wern Primary School, providing story and play sessions along the journey.
The new Family and Information Service will allow free guidance and advice to be easily accessed by phone or internet.
Information provided includes family health, support and parental outreach sign posting to specialist services. Advice on local Early Years’ Education Settings and information about working and training in childcare will also be available.
The service offers free, impartial, confidential advice from pregnancy, through to toddler years, school years and young people aged up to 25 years.
