Essential gas mains work is to be carried out in Fields Park Road in Newport for several months.
The £360,000 project to replace 1,750 metres of cast iron mains with a new plastic gas pipe begins next week (OCT 27).
Traffic management will be introduced and the project will start at the Risca Road end of Fields Park Road and travel 1.75km towards the Civic Centre on Clytha Park Road, expected to take several months to complete.
The commencement of the project coincides with half term school holidays.
Matthew Phillips, Wales and West Utility’s Operations Controller, said: “This is a substantial replacement project and the start time has been planned to reduce the impact that traffic management and traffic lights will have on school traffic at the roundabout at Fields Park Road and Risca Road.”
