CHILDREN at a Newport nursery not only helped to cook something healthy - they also walked back after buying the fresh ingredients.
As part of a project, pupils from Fairoak Nursery in Church Road held a healthy living week with lots of exciting events.
On Monday, youngsters went shopping with their parents to buy fresh fruit and vegetables in Newport Provisions Market.
Each child had £1 to spend and took a recipe with them.
On their walk back to the nursery they took photographs of city landmarks.
They then cooked their healthy meals before tucking in to their creations.
Other events during the week include a harvest festival in St Matthew's Church when the children made traditional harvest sheaves of corn bread and produce was donated to the Raven House charity.
A "dancercise" session with Attribute Sports was held yesterday and today pupils were learning how to be waiters and serving funny vegetable faces to their friends.
