The anti-social use of vehicles in Nevill Hall Hospital car park during the evenings has become a top priority for Abergavenny police.
Another concern to residents of Cantref ward involves the parking of cars on the busy A40 Brecon Road outside the hospital.
The Neighbourhood Policing Team are already operating regular patrols in the area, and are also working with hospital car park staff to try to identify offenders.
Posters are to be displayed in the car park advising motorists that if they use their vehicles in an anti-social manner they may face prosecution.
In the meantime, officers are continuing to carry out regular foot patrols in the area, and several fixed-penalty tickets have been issued to offenders who have been identified.
The police are also working alongside hospital staff to try to accommodate vehicles as best they can within the grounds.
