CWMBRAN'S newest entertainment development will be opening its doors to customers this Hallowe'en.

The Leisure @ Cwmbran development features an assortment of attractions including a children's play centre, cinema and restaurants.

The Zoopadooper indoor play centre is already open for business and will be joined by the launch of Bowlplex, a 20-lane ten pin-bowling centre, on October 31.

It represents a £2.7 million investment by the firm Bowlplex Plc in the new development on Glyndwr Road.

To celebrate they are holding a special Hallowe'en VIP launch party where guests can enjoy unlimited bowling and entertainment from performance artists including fire jugglers and stilt walkers.

To mark the occasion the company is allowing the first 50 members of the public, in fancy dress at the door from 7pm, access to the exclusive invitation only party. Bowlplex managing director, Tracy Standish explained: "I am delighted that the launch of our seventeenth Bowlplex site will open with such an exciting evening. Bowlplex initially became involved with this scheme in 2005, so it is great to see this project finally come to fruition."

The centre features a late-licensed bar, 20 bowling lanes, 7 American pool tables and the very latest in Video World arcade games.

Also opening on October 31 is the eight screen Vue Entertainment cinema.

Vue Entertainment has invested £2.5 million in the cinema and Tim Richards, the company's chief executive officer said they are delighted to be involved in the development.

"We believe that this cinema truly offers an unmatched level of cinema entertainment in a unique environment with the highest level of comfort. We look forward to welcoming and serving the local community of Cwmbran for many years to come," he said.

Mint Blue, the private development company behind the project, has also secured the restaurant chain China China and is in final negotiations with other food retailers and a national late night bar chain.
