A 52-year-old man appeared in court today charged with murdering company director, Kingsley Monk.
Russell Leon Carter, of Rumney, Cardiff, is also charged with the attempted murder of Robert Lewis, Nathan Taylor and Gethan Heal and four counts of false imprisonment.
Father-of-two Mr Monk, 45, was killed at the Driverline 247 recruitment agency in New Inn on Monday.
His three colleagues were injured in the incident and were treated in hospital, but have since been released.
Carter confirmed his name and date of birth during the hearing at Newport Magistrates Court.
Magistrates remanded Carter in custody to appear at Newport Crown Court on October 30 for a preliminary hearing.
