IT will be like Christmas and their birthday all rolled into one for millions of young girls as the phenomenally successful High School Musical behemoth finally arrives for its third instalment.
Senior year sweethearts Troy (Zac Efron) and Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens) are in their final days at East High with the young lovers beginning to ponder, with much dread, life without each other as their academic futures sees them going their separate ways at colleges a thousand miles apart.
Troy also faces the tricky decision of choosing between a basketball scholarship or following his dream of being the next Gene Kelly, while the switched-on Gabriella is bound for big things at Stanford.
Cardboard cut-out “baddie’ Sharpay (Ashley Tisdale) returns to ensure the course of true love doesn’t run smooth.
It’s all a load of complete guff of course as any sane parent with a High School Musical addict will testify to but the kids, they just love it.
Packed with songs, immaculate dance routines and pearly smiles, it is a dream for young audiences and a nightmare for the rest.
