A NEWPORT University graduate helped to make the latest Bond blockbuster.
Alistair Burleigh, 27, a former fine art student, designed and operated a special-effects illuminated cube for the film.
The cube pulsates to rhythms during a party scene at the film.
Mr Burleigh's work was spotted by the Bond production team after exhibiting the hi-tech cube at the Tent London design festival.
Mr Burleigh said film bosses asked him to provide the "wow factor" for the scene.
“I was briefed to produce a five metre music-responsive illuminated cube that would hang above the guests."
Mr Burleigh spent two weeks on location in Panama installing the cube and running the music as they filmed the scene.
During shooting, Alistair met the film’s stars, including James Bond himself, actor Daniel Craig.
“He’s a really nice guy and it was all was very exciting, but at the end of the day it became just another job.”
Mr Burleigh said Newport was key to his creative training. “Everything I do comes out of the work produced during my time at Newport. The Caerleon campus has a lovely atmosphere; it’s a creative, vibrant place where people can bounce ideas off each other.
