RADIO DJ Chris Evans' Gwent restaurant has scooped a top award.
The Newbridge Inn, Tredunnock, near Usk, was named as the Penderyn Restaurant of the Month.
Penderyn inspectors admired the restaurant’s use of local produce and were particularly impressed by the fillet of Usk Valley beef and the roasted saddle of Bwlch venison.
The Newbridge is one of three pubs owned by Chris Evans where more than 50 per cent of the group’s total profits go to local children’s charities.
Manager of the Newbridge Inn, Leighton Davy, said: "It’s great to be recognised for this award but the real credit goes to all the team here at The Newbridge that makes it all work."
Stephen Davies, managing director of Penderyn, a distillery near Brecon, said: “The Newbridge is a fine example of how the simple things, done well are enduring and highly successful. They are admirable winners."
