YOUNGSTERS in Somerton, Newport, got a taste of physical activity Army-style when a group of soldiers paid a visit to the Hope Centre.
A series of activities were organised, with children getting a chance to try their hand at an assault course.
The Royal Logistics Corps and the Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers were among those representing the Army.
The Hope Centre, run by the community group Regeneration Association Somerton Community At Large (RASCAL), opened officially in August.
It cost £427,000 and includes a coffee shop, meeting rooms and activity centre.
The army activities were organised as part of its aim to encourage a positive attitude toward healthy living for all age groups in the community it serves.
