EXCLUSIVE - A REMEMBRANCE Sunday parade in Newbridge was saved today after veterans won their battle to keep its traditional time frame as normal.
Members from Newbridge Royal British Legion branch had threatened to call off the November 9 march after the council said to comply with health and safety rules, roads around Parry’s Square, Newbridge, should be closed for just an hour-and-a-quarter.
A spokeswoman for Caerphilly council said: “I can confirm that the parade will go ahead under the same conditions as previous years.
“We have worked closely with the police regarding the final arrangements to the event.”
