ARE YOU one of these people who could hold vital clues to the death of a 26-year-old Gwent man?
Gareth Davies died after a scuffle outside the John Fielding Wetherspoon pub in Cwmbran. He was on a fundraising night out and was dressed as a Ghostbuster.
Today his father Keith Davies made a direct appeal urging anyone who has any information that could hold the key to his son's death to come forward.
Police have released CCTV images of eight people who may have seen the incident on October 28, 2007.
Cwmbran bank worker Mr Davies died in hospital from his injuries two days later.
During the assault Mr Davies fell and hit his head on the floor. Despite regaining consciousness and spending the night at a friend's house; he could not be woken the next morning and later died in hospital.
An inquest in May ruled Mr Davies was unlawfully killed.
It was during a Hallowe'en night out with friends raising money for his local football team when the assault occurred some time between 12.30 and 1.30am.
Mr Davies, who lived in Llangibby, was a mortgage advisor at HSBC in Cwmbran, having previously worked as a manager at a sports shop in Newport.
He was a keen footballer and played for both Pontnewydd United FC and the Odd Fellows Arms pub team.
Mr Davies and his team-mates from Pontnewydd United were all dressed as Ghostbusters on the night he was attacked.
On November 1 the club will hold a fancy dress memorial service. A year on from the fatal assault, police have re-appealed for information.
Officers say those pictured were in the area at the time of the incident and might have seen something. Police believe these people may know each other.
Taxi drivers who may have worked in Cwmbran town centre that night are also being urged to get in touch.
Keith Davies, talking on of his wife Diane and daughter Laura said: "As a family we miss him more than words can say and know that nothing that can be said or done will ever bring him back. The investigation remains unresolved and as you can imagine this situation is becoming increasingly difficult for us as a family as we need to have some degree of closure."
Detective Superintendent, Geoff Ronayne said: "We are re-appealing for witnesses, anyone who was there or anyone who may have since spoken to people about the incident to come forward."
He added: "They could have vital information that could be key to resolving this case."
Police issued an appeal for two of the eight pictured to come forward last year, but had no response.
Two men were arrested in connection with Mr Davies' death, but later released without charge.
Anyone with any information about the incident should call Gwent Police on 01633 838111 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
