sPOLICE are appealing for information following an arson attack in Ebbw Vale.
A fire was deliberately started in a garage behind Bethcar Street, forcing a family who lived in a flat just metres away from the blaze to flee their home.
Simon Thomas, 35, his wife Stephanie, 23 and their son Bradley, who is nearly two, managed to get out of the building and had to climb over a wall to safety.
The fire occurred some time between 3.30am and 4.45am.
The garage and the car inside the garage were completely destroyed.
Police are treating the fire as deliberately set and would appeal for anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area to contact them on 01633 838111 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
