A PREGNANT woman was attacked in her own home by her boyfriend whose nickname was "evil," a court heard.
Keiron Jenkins, 18, told her during the beating: "My head's going, what have you done to me."
Jenkins, of Snatchwood Road, Abersychan, admitted two charges of assault and was made subject to a community order for two years involving supervision for the same period.
Jenkins, who was said the have an IQ of 63 was also ordered to take part in a domestic abuse programme.
Judge Nicholas Cooke, sitting at Cardiff crown court, told him: "Violence to woman in a domestic setting is unacceptable. It is not an excuse but you are not the brightest of men.
"If you breach this order you are likely to be sent to prison. Keep out of trouble."
Prosecutor Nicola Powell said Jenkins had had a relationship for nine months with Natalie Powell.
On May 3 he went to her home in Elm Close, Trevethin, Pontypool, and began kicking at the front door. He got in and she ran into the bedroom.
He threw a three drawer unit across the room, picked up a screwdriver, prodded her with it, injuring her right arm and put his hands around her throat.
Miss Powell who became hysterical and called the police.
Soon after he hit her with a curtain pole, shouted "Why are you doing this to me?" and claimed that she had cheated on him.
On May 30 they had an argument about that incident and he threw an object at her and threatened her not to press charges.
Jenkins, the court heard, had a previous conviction for aggravated vehicle taking and had been in custody for 56 days.
