W (15) ****- Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Banks, James Cromwell and Richard Dreyfuss.

OLIVER Stone is one of the most fascinating film-makers in the cinema today.

Whatever you think of the man, his movies are eminently watchable.

He has previously tackled two of the great modern heavyweights of American politics with interesting results in the two fine films that are JFK and Nixon.

George Walker Bush may not be have the stature of Jack or Tricky Dicky, but his presidency marks a fascinating period in American and world history with his time as chief executive sure to be talked about and scrutinised for decades to come.

And whatever you think of Dubya, he is a remarkable figure and Stone doesn’t disappoint portraying Bush Junior's absorbing life-story from the boozy young man of his highly privileged background and his relationship with his father to him getting back on the wagon, becoming president and his controversial neo-con administration post 9-11.

Josh Brolin (No Country For Old Men) is superb as Dubya while James Cromwell is equally impressive as dad in one of the year’s must-see movies.
