A BLAENAVON man remains in a critical but stable condition almost two weeks after a gas explosion at his home which hospitalised two others.
The man, named locally as Owen Coslett, 57, remains in Swansea's Morriston Hospital after the blast at an end terrace house in Hillside Avenue on October 27.
The explosion, which happened at around 12.30am, blew the front door and window frame off, leaving Mr Coslett with severe burns and his brother Phillip Coslett and Delwyn Bright with minor injuries.
All three were able to get out of the house under their own power and were taken to Nevill Hall hospital.
Phillip Coslett and Mr Bright were later discharged, but Owen Coslett was transferred to Morriston's burns unit.
Ten firefighters from Blaenavon and Brynmawr attended to scene after the blast and one appliance from Abersychan had to go back to the same address at around 3.40 after another fire started Police are not treating the incident as deliberate and the cause of the explosion is yet to be established as the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) continue its investigations.
A spokesman for the HSE said: "We are unable to comment on ongoing investigations for legal reasons."
