MORE THAN 75 teams of young dancers from across the country took part in a street dance competition in Newport.
The United Dance Organisation’s Welsh Street Dance Championships took place at the Newport Centre on Sunday, November 9 to find the next George Sampson.
Dancers from as far as Glasgow and Portsmouth performed as soloists, duos or as teams as part of qualification for the World Street Dance Championships which take place in August.
The competition was open to everyone and was divided into age groups from the under 10s to the over 18s.
The chief executive officer for the United Dance Organisation, Simon Dibley, said it was the biggest heat the organisation has had so far with more than 1,500 people turning up to the Newport venue.
The winners will now have to take part in another competition such as the North Wales Championships in order to qualify for the World Championships.
