A HOUSING association has been granted planning permission to build affordable homes in Ebbw Vale.
United Welsh Housing Association were given the go-ahead to build 33 units, made up of 29 semi-detatched houses and four flats on Commercial Street, Briery Hill.
The scheme would also incorporate a car park for residents.
In a report considered by Blaenau Gwent Council's planning committee on Friday, it advises councillors to enter into a legal agreement with the development to ensure the homes that build are affordable.
The report acknowledges that although the applicant is a registered social landlord and the application is for affordable homes, there is no legal constraints for the developer building homes and selling them for their full market value.
Therefore the council granted the application on the condition that the authority and developer enter into a legal agreement to ensure the dwellings are affordable.
