A GROUP of young Muslims from Newport have raised more than £1,000 to provide medical aid in Gaza.
The members of the Young Muslim Community Organisation (YMCO) in Newport held a bazaar on January 18 at Pill Millennium Centre.
This was following an appeal by the Archbishop of Wales, Dr Barry Morgan, for urgent aid.
The money is for a mobile dental clinic to deliver frontline medical aid in Gaza.
More than 300 people attended the bazaar and activities included an auction, stalls, hot food and children's games.
The clinic has been funded totally by the Church in Wales since 2000.
Chair of the YMCO, Ifthir Ahmed, said the group was pleased to support a Welsh appeal for humanitarian aid.
He said they had strong support from the people of Newport.
