NEWPORT’S International Film School Wales swept the board at the annual student moving image festival of Wales.
The school, which is based at the University of Wales, Newport, claimed eight of the 15 titles at the Ffresh Awards 2009.
These included animation, music media and the best of festival.
The school also claimed the best factual, postgraduate fiction, undergraduate fiction, short shorts and TV titles.
The Ffresh awards, which are organised by The Festivals Company, are held in Aberystwyth each February.
More than 270 entries were received this year from 13 colleges and universities across the region. Each one was judged by a panel of industry experts.
Ffresh chair Maggie Russell said: "The awards are aimed at encouraging and recognising talent in Wales and reflect what is being created in the institutions but more importantly the demands of the creative industries.”
Head of the International Film School Wales, Humphrey Trevelyan said: “We are extremely pleased with these great results which show the hard work of all the staff and students here.
“We would like to thank everyone who has supported us with this.”
