A TINTERN vineyard won a commended award at the recent 2009 Decanter World Wine Awards.
Parva Farm Vineyard won the international prize for their Tintern Parva Bacchus 2006 wine.
Owners of the vineyard, Colin and Judith Dudley said they were delighted to receive the award which places them amongst the top UK wine producers.
Mrs Dudley said: “The Bacchus wine is a medium dry white, quite aromatic with good depth of flavour and a good finish. It is a smooth, well balanced wine and very popular with the customers at Parva Farm.”
The wine is available from the farm shop as well as at several local restaurants.
The good news comes at the start of Welsh Wine Week which runs from May 23 until May 31. During the week, Welsh vineyards open their doors to visitors to try their wines and see the way Welsh wine is produced.
Parva Farm vineyard will be open every day from 10.30am until 6pm during Welsh Wine Week.
