CWMBRAN Town officials are again urging potential benefactors to step forward and help with the running of the club.
The Welsh Premier League outfit are looking to secure the future of the club after the departure of John Colley as chairman and sole benefactor.
Cwmbran's newly formed committee are currently seeking local businesses to come forward and join the club to help support and finance the day-to-day activities.
Secretary Ian Greaney said: "It would be great if we could find someone with a real passion for the club with the desire and commitment to take us forward.
"We are in a position to offer directorships to any individuals or companies prepared to help us out and come on board.
"The club has been running within the community for over fifty years and all of us associated with the club want this to continue for many years to come.
"Playing in the premier league of Wales has put Cwmbran Town on the football map over the past thirteen seasons and we have been privileged to have been involved in many prestigious games.
"We have competed in the Champions League against Cork City after winning the League of Wales title in our inaugural season, we have also played in several UEFA cup games.
"Many people may remember us when we played Glasgow Celtic in that competition a few seasons ago and it is still our aim to be competing at that level."
Greaney is hopeful that the prestige of the club will attract interest, but also feels that anyone who comes on board will find themselves well rewarded.
He explained: "Finding the right backers is the key to the development of the club, with us entering into a new season we need to start off on a stable footing which would cement the future of the club.
"The club can offer a lot to the right person as well as being featured weekly on sporting television channels, they can also develop any sponsorship and advertising opportunities for their company.
"The club last week held their first general meeting for supporters of the club. It was a very positive meeting, a new committee was formed and the supporters were all advised as to the future of the club and the committee's commitment to taking the club forward.
"The jigsaw is coming together slowly and the final piece would be for the right person to approach the club and make themselves known."
If there are any interested parties who feel they can commit to the long term future of Cwmbran Football Club then the interim chairman Mike Lewis can be contacted on 01633 676570 or the club Secretary Ian Greaney on 07930 142391.
