SPORTY youngsters are planning to take advantage of an opportunity to net some funds for their club and another good cause.
Jon Howell, Abergavenny Tennis Club coach, is leading a group of parents, coaches and youngsters on the Prince's Trust fun run on July 5.
Junior club members will benefit from their efforts at the event which is being supported by the Argus.
As well as 50 per cent of the sponsorship they raise going to the junior development programme, individual young members will get half of all they raise as coaching credits.
More than £320 has already been raised by the club.
The Prince's Trust Cymru has organised the fun run, at the Celtic Manor Resort, to raise money for its work with disadvantaged young people.
But schools and registered youth groups, such as Abergavenny Tennis Club, can also help their own good causes by keeping 50 per cent of the money they raise.
Participants in the fun run will receive goody bags and giveaways and have the chance to win prizes for fancy dress.
Celebrity ambassadors of the organisation are expected to attend and there will also be food, drink and hospitality.
A children's race will start at 6.45pm and they will be followed by the adults at 7pm along the off-road route.
Entry for children under 14 costs £2 and adults £5, or family entry (two adults and two children), £10.
